Meet Blake!

Blake is a 3 year old, 20 lb Bichon mix who was surrendered by his owner due to her moving out of the country.

Blake is house trained and does his business outside.

Blake walks well on leash, but is reactive towards larger dogs when on leash.

Like many small dogs, he gets along fine with other small dogs his size.

He would benefit from a securely fenced in yard or if walking him on leash in public, be sure to steer clear of larger dogs on leash.

Blake is initially shy of new people, but is playful and and sweet once he gains trust. Blake is an athletic dog who would thrive in a home where he will receive mental and physical stimulation. He loves to play chase and do zoomies. He would probably enjoy formal training and be the top of his class!

His foster mom groomed him and reports that he was a very good boy during his spa treatment.

Blake sleeps on his foster mom's bed and is fine all night.

His opinion about cats is unknown.

Blake is up to date on vaccines and vet checked this year. He does have a history of some paw licking due to allergies. He has previously been given shots to control this, but we feel this may be a food related allergy and once he is on a better diet, this may not be a future issue. Other than the occasional ear infection...he is very healthy. (Keeping his ears clean will prevent further issues)

Blake will be a wonderful companion dog in a home for someone with some dog experience and where it is not a high traffic home. We prefer an adult only home, but he should also be fine in a home with older children (over the age of 10).

is currently being fostered in Pleasant Valley, NY (Upstate). We are willing to take applications from NY, NJ, CT, Eastern PA or anywhere that is 3 hours or less drive from either Northern New Jersey or Pleasant Valley NY, as long as you are willing to drive to pick him up.
